The Treasurer’s report, as follows, was read by Maureen Garvey and was unanimously accepted on a motion from Diane Christie and seconded by Sandra Mintz.
Total in Savings: $8,646.84
Total in Checking: $338.03
One invoice for the previous month was presented to the membership.
Ms. Christie explained that the total savings will be reflected in next month’s report: she receives a savings statement quarterly.
Ms. Tusa reported that we received an “employee giving” check and asked Ms. Ormsten to send a letter of acknowledgement.
Residential membership stands at 51; 43 current with 8 renewals for 2018 still outstanding. Ms. Tusa will remove the members who have not renewed for the current year from the roster.
There was a discussion of the business memberships. We tried only emailing the businesses this year; it seems that a hard copy produced somewhat better results. Ms. Christie suggested that we send hard copy renewals to any businesses that were members last year but have not yet renewed. Ms. Tusa said she would do that.
Ellen Firer would prefer the Friends not host a table during National Library Week. She did indicate that a Friends presence during school breaks would be welcome.
Diane Christie agreed to co-chair the Tasting Event with Karen Tusa.
There was a brief discussion of the FOML Breakfast. Maureen Garvey will keep in touch with Karen Tusa re: registration.
Re-design of the Friends membership brochure was discussed; it was decided that we will stay with the current format for ease of mailing.
Revised documents for HSBC Bank Account required signature by Diane Christie; Howard Schwartz will be contacted to sign where necessary. Maureen Garvey reviewed said documents. Documents were also reviewed by our accountant as well for accuracy.
Upcoming meetings for the FOML: May 8 and June 12. All meetings are held on Tuesdays in the second floor conference room and start at 4:45PM.
A motion to adjourn was made by Diane Christie at 5:35pm.
